Welcome to Mindfully Money!

Mindfully Money is here to help you take control of your finances, align your money with your values, and create a more meaningful and fulfilling life.

Hi, I’m Annie!

I became a financial coach because I wanted to help people learn how to manage their money in a way that works for them.

Millions of people don’t have access to financial planning. Sometimes they don’t have enough money to work with a planner. Or sometimes they struggle to find a planner who listens and understands them. My goal is to help people with basic money management skills and get them to a place where they need a financial planner.

My promise to you is that I will walk you through the process of managing your money without guilt or shame. You can think of me as your judgment-free money guide who will provide all the hand-holding you need as you build your financial life.

My Beliefs

Money is more than just numbers.

Money is personal. It affects all aspects of life, including your emotions, experiences, and habits. At Mindfully Money, we start with examining what is truly important to you and work from there to develop a customized money plan to help you live a happier, more meaningful life.

Aligning your money with your values is key to building a satisfying life.

Research by Daniel Kahneman has shown that happiness increases with income only up to about $75,000. Once you’re able to take care of basic needs, there is no correlation between making more money and being happy. Instead, happiness comes from aligning your resources (time, money, skills, etc) with your values and life goals.

There is enough for everyone.

I believe in a world of abundance where we use our resources to lift up others. So many of our public policies and financial institutions are designed to make the rich richer and make it harder for everyone else to get ahead. As the great Paul Wellstone once said, “We all do better when we all do better.” I firmly believe that changing public policy is just as important as individual action when it comes to creating wealth.

Society and politics play an important role.

Many money problems cannot be addressed by telling people to work harder, stop buying the wrong things, or pull yourself up by your bootstraps. We have systems that are designed to help some people get rich while providing extra obstacles for others. Stopping your daily latte habit isn’t going matter when a medical catastrophe threatens to bankrupt you. We as a society need to set up a better safety net as well as work to dismantle systems that make it harder for certain groups of people to build wealth.

You have the power to change your life.

It all starts with figuring out where you want to go and identifying the steps you can take to get there. Mindfully Money can help you see the possibilities in your own life and help walk you through the steps to get there. Are you ready to get started?
